Nadia Elena Comaneci

The year was 1976 and she became an international star when she scored the most perfect ever 10 on the bar that was asymmetric at the Montreal Olympic Games. To add to that she scored six more perfect 10s, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist only 14 years old age. Not only did Nadia Comaneci draw attention from all directions however, she also assisted in helping Romania get its place on the global map. This sporting icon stepped into spotlight by achieving an unachievable score, thus becoming a hero and spreading the word about gymnastics as a game all over the globe. It also changed people's perception of women athletes. The impact she had on the Olympics was so great that two of her routines such as the toe-on movement and the release movement were named after her. Both are rated as difficult to the highest level. Alongside the Olympics her performance also included impressive performance at each of her World Championships & European Championships. In the end, she was a renowned gymnast as well as one of the greatest athletes that the world has ever witnessed. The 'Queen of Olympics' tried her hand at modelling and marketing the sport after she emigrated to the US. Nadia Nadia Nadia Nadia 2 Nadia
