Annette Funicello did not only sing or act, but also acted. She was best known for her role as one of the first "Mouseketeers" in the show 'Mickey Mouse Club.' When she was in her teens Annette started singing and became a household name for her songs 'Tall Paul' and Pineapple Princess'. The girl was born and raised in Utica and with Italian immigrants, Annette was a shy child. In order to make her name in the entertainment business she started to perform and act. She gained fame in the 1950s as she played the role of "Mouseketeers". Annette shed her Disney image as an adult and began to take on roles for adults. Her most notable role was as the pioneer in the genre of beach parties. The actress was featured in films such like How to Stuff a Wild Bikini, Pajama Party, and"Beach Party..
